MILICA STEFANOVIC

I was born in 1988 in Niksic, Montenegro. I grew up by moving out a lot all around Serbia, and have been stationed in Belgrade for 8 years now. So far I finished high school for Jewelery hand-made and design, and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts also in Belgrade. I love to paint, draw and photograph.

I live between London and a small city called Leicester where I was born in 1990, here in the UK. I’m studying a Film & Photography degree down in the capital, which is maybe soon to be just Film. Right now I’m home for the Summertime and looking forward to various trips and being able to skate a lot. I never plan to make pictures i never try to create a series i hope they come a long the way. But i never mind if someone tries to make his own story, actually i like it that way you always get 10 different stories on one photo (a lot of inspiration). I hope that my art will been viewed in as much different ways as possible. It isn’t logic that i try to study illustration right now, we will see what happens with that a long the way. I’d went back studying after a 2 year break where a was working in construction to get my money for films etc, so i thought lets make some drawings for a living and don’t get me involved in taking pictures for others. The only downside is that the illustrations became more and more fine works, so there went my plan again, to get a suburban house suburban wife and Labrador. How harder you’ll try the further away you’ll get, so I’m trying really hard. although it’s a good environment for pictures..

JULIE LANSOM

I’m 23, I was born in Montpellier in the South of France. I’ve done my degree there, then I moved to London and I’m now back in France, in Paris, for a year and a half now, finishing my master at the “Institut Français de Presse.” That’s basically all you can say about me. I live a pretty normal life.

JULIE ON JULIE:

I like taking photos, it’s a way for me to remember some of the moments I’ve liked. To be honest, everyone in my family is an artist so I actually had to find something to do something too. I tried to be a painter but I suck, I tried to be a gymnast but I smoke too much, I wanted to be a stone mason but I have absolutely no strength in the arms, I wanted to play cello but I’m too lazy, an actress but I’m not pretty enough. I finally chose photography. And I’m a part-time doctor too. I’m obsessed with medication. I can’t explain or analyze my work. It feels really awkward and absolutely inappropriate. I have, to be completely honest, no idea what I’m doing when I’m doing it. I guess you could qualify it as “hazardous.” My technique, frankly, has limits, my settings are always wrong, and I wouldn’t change that for anything in the world. I wish I could leave Paris and go elsewhere. Everyone seems to think Paris is amazing in photos but I find it very boring. Well, it’s nice, the architecture is wonderful but everything looks the same, and clean. I like the cities to be a bit of a mess, I find it more interesting. This is probably what I loved about London. And the parks too, there is one park here and it’s lame. I wanna go and live in a cottage as soon as I find a rich wealthy husband.

JUSTIN APPERLEY

I am a true nomadic prairie boy. Perpetually moving around, cannot stay put. Born in Saskatoon~ Saskatchewan, moved to Edmonton~Alberta, to Winnipeg~Manitoba, Calgary~Alberta, Aurora~Ontario, Amsterdam~Netherlands, Toronto~Ontario, DawsonCity~YukonTerritory, Tofino~BritishColumbia and now currently holdin’ out in Montréal~Québéc anxiously waiting for a summer full of northern vagabonding and gettin’ dirty. Recently graduated from a mix of OCAD and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie majoring in Graphic Design and Printmaking. I’ve been running the image blog †† ALASKAN EYES †† now for just about three years, and I am always down for some hootin’ n’ hollerin’ to a lil’ mouldy skidkid delta-blues slide guitar. CROSS-COUNTRY HITCHHIKE JOURNAL:

This past Fall I clocked 15,496 kms cross-country northwest to east to west : the Arctic Circle in the Yukon Territory all the way out to St.John’s, Newfoundland and then BACK to Vancouver Island. Cross Canada twice. Half with a car, Half without. 43 different rides coast to coast from the most amazing, interesting, nicest/kindest, totally mixed bag bunch of Canadians ever imaginable. 3 months and 2 days. Met new friends, re-kindered old ones. Stories worth telling. Here are a couple journal entries from my time spent around beautiful east coast Newfoundland planning my hitch back out west.
